Identity

Coffee Club – (n) a group of young men and women of generally lower middle- to low-income families, usually found between 3 PM and 10 PM, having coffee and conversation at the corner table of TOSS, Nevada Square, Baguio City (c. 1996); (n) an association of like-minded young men and women bound together by friendship and an addiction to coffee; (n) THE Coffee Club; (n) “us”.

Kadara – (n) a corruption of an Ilocano word, used to mean “one of us”.
(literally, “one who shares the same blood”; “dara”, Ilocano for blood;)

Katambay – (n) literally, “one who hangs out with us”; (n) a friend. See also kadara.

Los TOSStados – (n) Synonym for The Coffee Club.

Tambayan – (n) a hang-out; (n) TOSS, circa late 20th century; (n) any place where the Coffee Club meet on a regular basis.

TOSS – (n) The One Stop Shop, a convenience store on the second floor of the left wing of Nevada Square, Baguio City, ceased operations in August 2000; (n) THE Tambayan

TOSStado – (n) one of the Los TOSStados; (n) a member of The Coffee Club; (n) a person of the same worldview as the Coffee Club. Synonyms: katambay, kadara. Antonyms: Biscotti, coño, coñito
